CB*MA runs regular open days throughout the year, so that prospective students can come and see what the school is like, meet our current students and chat to our tutors. They start and 11:00am and finish at 4:00pm and you can drop in at any time during the day.

We set our students a project to work on for the open day and it is the first time they will come under scrutiny from people outside the Academy! So they might even be a little nervous!

It really is a great opportunity for you to get a feel for the place and the people. Make sure you have a list of questions on hand so you don’t forget anything and we’ll treat you to a nice cuppa and a chocolate biccie as you stroll around.

Well, that has been a cold snap! Bring on spring I say!

I have seen my first Daffodil of the year, the sight of it always brings with it hope and beauty.

I really do enjoy open days as it is a chance to really see “the family” in action. There is Christine and I overlooking the whole event, with Carla, it was her first open day and a very busy one too; yet she coped well! We really appreciate the effort that they made for us on Saturday, and would like to thank everyone that came into see us. We hope we managed to answer any questions that you might have!

For The current students, it is a great opportunity to being observed! Some find it nerve wracking, whilst others thrive in it.

We have many of our graduates come to help out too. They talk to the current students and our guests, telling of all their experiences, before and after, good and not so good.

This is what makes CB*MA the best school; the family and the honesty, we do things together!

February also means that our three month students are over half way through, and are almost ready to get out there and start working! It’s a very exciting time with the end of the course approaching, because they are getting ready to start their careers.

The students are working on their Wigs at the moment and then eventually boot camp, where all of their new found skills will be put to the test.

It is prosthetics next week....a mess, exciting but still a mess!!
We compared another schools one month module to our two week one. We showed them to a few very experienced Prosthetic artists, who all agreed that ours was far more intense and hands on, learning more.

Come April, we will be beginning our new five month training programme. This is a new course from us, but one that we really feel is going to be challenging, stimulating and hopefully fun too.

Our new four month course is beginning to fill up quickly too, so I wouldn’t suggest hanging around too long for that one too!

Tahira’s masterclass:

Before we go, just a quick note about a Make – up Masterclass being run by one of our tutors, Tahira. The Beauty Make – up Masterclass is a one day event designed to help you prefect your skills and brush up on colour theory, facial morphology, Contouring, Eye make-up and perfecting your pout. Costing £150, it runs on Saturday March 3rd at the Guru Make Up Emporium between 10:30 – 15:30. Anybody who is interested can contact Tahira at tahira.makeup@gmail.com, or call on 07940 01 62 52.
